Top 5 Managed Healthcare Stocks For 2014

LONDON -- The FTSE 100 (FTSEINDICES: ^FTSE  ) slipped further this week as investors worried about the future of economic-stimulus policies. However, it recovered some of those losses today, gaining 1.2%, to end the week down about 2%. That's still a rise of more than 16% over the past 12 months. And there's another way of profiting from shares besides capital gains, too. I'm talking about dividends -- and the recent falls have raised the FTSE's overall dividend yield forecast to 3.3%.

But, if you're selective, you can get a better yield than that, so let's look at three companies that have lifted their dividends this week.

Johnson Matthey (LSE: JMAT  )
Specialist chemicals supplier Johnson Matthey declared a final dividend of 41.5 pence per share on Thursday, taking its total for the year up 4%, to 57 pence (though there is no repeat of last year's 100 pence special dividend). That lift came despite underlying pre-tax profit falling 9% to 389 million pounds, and underlying earnings per share dropping 2%, to 150 pence.,

Raytheon Moves Forward With AI3 Rocket-Intercept Project

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN  ) has completed a successful series of flights for control test vehicles (CTV) in the Accelerated Improved Intercept Initiative, aka AI3, the company announced this week.

The AI3 goal is to destroy a wider variety of artillery, rockets, and other types of weaponry, in order to protect warfighters.

The company's most recent test flight consisted of the Ku-Band Radio Frequency System (KRFS) detecting a would-be threat, calculating the impact on a protected area, and guiding an AI3 missile through datalink. The missile successfully intercepted the incoming rocket, according to Raytheon.

Representatives from both Raytheon and the U.S. Army have spoken favorably about the recent tests. Steve Bennett, Raytheon's director of the AI3 program, believes the tests' success mean "the AI3 program remains on schedule." The Army's AI3 project manager, Lt. Col. Brett Wilhide, said the project is now ready to "progress to the guided test vehicle flight test phase of the program. Those tests will demonstrate the full integration of the tactical AI3 battle element system to intercept threat targets."

Raytheon announced in March 2012 that the Army had awarded it a $79.2 million contract to develop a system to detect and destroy incoming rockets: the Accelerated Improved Intercept Initiative to include an interceptor developed by Raytheon and a government-furnished launcher, fire control system, and command and control system.

The next set of tests will include an onboard semiactive radar seeker, which will perform terminal guidance to intercept its targets.

CAPScall of the Week: RealPage

For years, satirical late-night TV host Stephen Colbert has been running a series on his show called "Better Know a District," which highlights one of the 435 U.S. congressional districts and its representative. While I am no Stephen Colbert, I am brutally inquisitive when it comes to the 5,000-plus listed companies on the U.S. stock exchanges.

That's why I've made it a weekly tradition to examine one seldom-followed company within the Motley Fool CAPS database, and make a CAPScall of outperform or underperform on that company.

For this week's round of "Better Know a Stock," I'm going to take a closer look at RealPage (NASDAQ: RP  ) .

What RealPage does
RealPage is a software-as-a-service applications provider to apartment communities and single-family housing developments. The company has a portfolio of cloud-based software products that allow apartment communities to automate leasing, renting, management, and accounting activities. It also provides software capable of helping apartments originate and find new leads, as well as optimize rent yields.

Hot Low Price Stocks To Watch Right Now

In its fourth-quarter report, RealPage saw its revenue jump 20% to $85.7 million while net income rose 43% to $10.2 million over the year-ago period. Looking toward full-year 2013, RealPage anticipates revenue growth of 20% to a mid-point forecast of $386 million, with EPS forecast to be between $0.57 and $0.60.

Whom it competes against
RealPage doesn't have any comparably sized publicly traded competition. The greatest point of concern for any RealPage shareholder has to do with the overall health of the housing market, the trends in rent prices, and the underlying drive of residential real estate investment trusts to drive growth.

In recent months, rental growth trends have slowed as housing prices began to once again creep higher and lending standards relaxed just enough to allow previously locked-out potential buyers the ability to buy a home. According to MPF Research, effective rent growth for new leases grew 2.6% in the first quarter, which is still strong, but down from the 4.8% growth we saw in the fourth quarter of 2011. On the flip-side, apartment vacancy rates are at their lowest levels (4.3%) since 2001. 

To get a better idea of how RealPage is doing, it's always best to look at occupancy rates for some of the nation's biggest residential-REITs. In AvalonBay Communities' (NYSE: AVB  ) most recent quarter, the company reported a 5% increase in revenue attributable to a 4.7% boost in prices in established communities, and a 0.3% uptick in occupancy. For Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR  ) it was much of the same, with revenue rising 5.4% in the fourth-quarter as occupancy rates rose 40 basis points to 95.4% from the year-ago period. Finally, Essex Property Trust (NYSE: ESS  ) delivered some of the strongest occupancy results of all, with 96.9% of its units occupied as of the end of January. The point is that with occupancy rates at their lowest levels in more than a decade, these residential REITs are driving growth by boosting prices because of rent scarcity.

The call
After carefully reviewing the prospects for RealPage, I've decided to make a CAPScall of outperform on the company.

Although RealPage's valuation leaves a lot to be desired for a deep-discount value seeker like myself -- it's valued at 34 times the mid-point of this year's EPS estimates -- its cloud-based applications are sitting in the sweet spot of an industry with incredible pricing power.

Looking at the first from a housing inventory perspective, the home buying process may be getting moderately easier as lenders ease their qualifications for a loan. However, inventory levels themselves are at multi-year lows, which is boosting home prices and pushing prospective homebuyers out of the market. This is only going to further push existing renters into "wait-and-see" mode.

From a residential-REIT's point of view, they'd be foolish not to utilize RealPage's rent optimization and automation tools to boost their margins. All three REITs noted above should maintain the ability to boost rental rates so long as vacancy rates remain near their lows, which provides more than ample reason for RealPage's cloud-based software to remain in high demand.

Oiltanking Partners, L.P. (OTLT) is engaged in the terminaling, storage and transportation of crude oil, refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Oiltanking Houston, L.P. (OTH) and Oiltanking Beaumont Partners, L.P. (OTB), the Company owns and operates storage and terminaling assets located along the Gulf Coast of the United States on the Houston, Texas Ship Channel and in Beaumont, Texas. Its Houston and Beaumont terminals provides deep-water access and interconnectivity to refineries, chemical and petrochemical companies, carrier and pipelines and production facilities and have international distribution capabilities. Its facilities are directly connected to 18 refineries, storage facilities and production facilities along the Gulf Coast area through pipelines and common carrier pipelines, to end markets along the Gulf Coast and to the Cushing, Oklahoma storage interchange.

Houston Terminal

T he Company operates third-party crude oil and refined petroleum products terminals on the Houston Ship Channel. Its facility has an aggregate active storage capacity of approximately 11.7 million barrels and provides integrated terminaling services to a variety of customers, including integrated oil companies, marketers, distributors and chemical companies. The principal products handled at its Houston terminal complex are crude oil, the inputs for chemical production (such as naphtha and condensate), which are referred to as chemical feedstocks, liquefied petroleum gas and clean petroleum products, such as gasoline and distillates, with crude oil accounting for approximately 64% of its active storage capacity.

The Companys storage and distribution network is integrated with the Houston petrochemical and refining complex. The facility handles products through a number of transportation modes, primarily through pipelines interconnected to local! refineries and production facilities, including Houston Refinings refinery in Pasadena, Texas, PRSIs refinery in Pasadena, Texas, ExxonMobils refinery in Baytown, Texas, which is a refinery in the United States. Its Houston terminal also handles products through third-party crude oil, refined petroleum products and liquified petroleum gas tankers and barges arriving at its deep-water docks. Its waterfront capabilities consists of six deep-water ship docks, allowing for the dockage of vessels with up to 130,000 deadweight tons (dwt), of cargo and vessel capacity, and two barge docks, allowing for barges with up to 20,000 dwt of cargo and barge capacity. Its deep-water ship docks can accommodate vessels with up to a 45 foot draft, including Suezmax tankers, which can navigate the Houston Ship Channel. During the year ended December 31, 2011 (during 2011), the Company generated 22% of its Houston terminal revenues from throughput fees charged to non-storage customers.

Th e Companys real property at its Houston terminal consists of approximately 327 acres, including 63 acres of nearby parcels that could be connected to its Houston terminal through existing owned rights-of-way. The Company owns approximately 24 acres at the Crossroads Interchange approximately six miles from its Houston terminal.

Beaumont Terminal

The Companys Beaumont terminal serves as a regional strategic and trading hub for vacuum gas oil and clean petroleum products for refineries located in the upper Gulf Coast region. Its facility has an aggregate active storage capacity of approximately 5.6 million barrels and provides integrated terminaling services to a variety of customers, including integrated oil companies, distributors, marketers and chemical and petrochemical companies. The principal products handled at its Beaumont terminal complex are refined petroleum products, which accounted for approximately 99% of its active storage capacit y as of December 31, 2011.

The Companys! storage ! and distribution network is integrated with the Beaumont/Port Arthur petrochemical and refining complex, and provides its customers with the additional services of mixing, blending, heating and marine vapor recovery. Its Beaumont facility handles products through a number of transportation modes, primarily through third-party pipelines interconnected to local refineries and production facilities, through its own pipeline system to Huntsmans chemical production facility in Port Neches, and through third-party crude and refined products tankers and barges arriving at its deep-water docks. Its waterfront capabilities consist of two deep-water ship docks, allowing for the dockage of vessels with up to 130,000 dwt of cargo and vessel capacity and drafts of up to 40 feet, and two barge docks, allowing for barges with up to 20,000 dwt of cargo and barge capacity and drafts of up to 12 feet.

The Company provides integrated terminaling, storage, pipeline and related services for third-party companies engaged in the production, distribution and marketing of crude oil, refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas. The Company generates its revenues through the provision of fee-based services to its customers. During 2011, it generated approximately 75% of its revenues from fixed monthly fees for storage services, which its customers pay to reserve storage space in its tanks and to compensate the Company for receiving an agreed upon average periodic amount of product volume, or throughput, on their behalf.

    Rumors swirled this week that Suntech Power (NYSE: STP  ) would be acquired by Warren Buffett's subsidiary MidAmerican Energy. Suntech has defaulted on U.S. loans, and its Chinese operations are in insolvency, so it's unknown exactly what Buffett would be buying. Then there's the fact that Suntech doesn't meet any of Buffett's normal investing rules, so there are few industry observers who think an acquisition would go through.

Cadillac's Plan to Reclaim 'Standard of the World' Title

General Motors' (GM) Cadillac brand has made a lot of news lately. GM is turning its old luxury brand into a standalone division, moving its headquarters to New York, and launching a new naming scheme for its models. If it seems like a lot of fuss over a brand that has fallen far behind the German luxury-car leaders, it is. But GM isn't just looking to recapture the romance of a bygone era when Cadillac's "Standard of the World" ad tagline really meant something. As crazy as it might seem, behind the scenes, there are big moves being made to turn Cadillac into a global luxury-car leader. Here's what GM has in mind. A New Future That Looks Back to the Best of Cadillac's Past For starters, forget everything you know about Cadillac. Forget the cushy seats and wire wheels and whitewall tires that marked Cadillacs of old, and forget the idea that Cadillacs are cars aimed at retired folks and nobody else. Forget all of that. But forget what Cadillac stood for once upon a time. Years ago -- like, 50 years ago -- Cadillac offered a uniquely brash, American take on real high-end luxury. Back then, Cadillacs were very expensive, but they were also bold, optimistic, and sophisticated -- the three "values" that Cadillac's marketing chief says the brand will now reclaim and build upon. Cadillac's global chief marketing officer, Uwe Ellinghaus, is a longtime BMW (BAMXF) executive who was hired by GM last year to help take the brand in a new direction. He told the Detroit News this week that the "Cadillac point of view" will become clear in a new ad campaign that will begin early next year -- starting when an all-new range-topping sedan is unveiled in January. But this isn't about copying the German brands, Ellinghaus says. As he told the Detroit News, "If you buy an Audi, Mercedes or BMW, you show that you fit into the premium luxury norm. This is the foreseeable car, the expected car in your neighborhood. Whereas with a Cadillac, it's more about ." [Emphasis added.] If that sounds like a big change for Cadillac, that's because it is. But it's driven by sound business reasons: A thriving luxury brand can be a huge source of profits for a global automaker, and GM CEO Mary Barra is pushing hard to increase GM's profit margins. Getting Cadillac to the point where it is taken seriously by BMW and Audi owners -- not just in the U.S., but also in China and eventually even in Europe -- could take years. But the process is already well underway. GM Has Given Cadillac's New Boss a Lot of Leeway Cadillac has a brand-new boss. Audi and Infiniti veteran Johan de Nysschen joined GM in August as Cadillac's president, and he has wasted no time laying out his vision for where Cadillac ought to go. For a while now, Cadillac has been struggling with an interesting problem. The brand's latest models, the CTS and ATS sedans and the new Escalade, really competitive with the best in the world. The all-new-for-2014 CTS sedan was Motor Trend's Car of the Year, and it has won numerous comparison tests against Mercedes-Benz's E-Class and BMW's 5-Series. But sales have been sluggish, and data shows that the new Cadillacs aren't getting consideration from BMW and Mercedes owners. That highlighted the problem: Having products that were on par with the German luxury leaders was only the first step -- now, Cadillac needs to fix its brand. That's where de Nysschen comes in. De Nysschen spent two decades at Audi, and he was a key part of that brand's efforts to separate its image from that of its corporate parent, Volkswagen Group (VLKAY), and elevate itself to the level of BMW and Mercedes. It's no surprise that he's drawing on Audi's playbook at Cadillac. The brand's planned move to New York isn't intended as an affront to Detroit, it's about creating a sense of separation -- so that Cadillac's people can focus intensely on , without distraction from the rest of General Motors. That laser-like focus is what's needed to succeed as a global luxury brand, he has said. More New Cadillacs Are Headed to Dealers. But Will Buyers Follow? Cadillac also needs a slew of new products, and they're coming. The next Cadillac, a high-end sedan that will slot above the CTS and XTS, will be revealed in January. It'll be called the CT6 and its styling is likely to draw on that of last year's stunning Cadillac Elmiraj concept car. Beyond that, there will be new crossover SUVs, new engines and high-tech features that will be exclusive to Cadillac -- and possibly an even bigger and grander sedan, de Nysschen has hinted. Of course, all of these new Cadillacs aren't just better-built and more luxurious than recent cars from the brand, they're more expensive. That has been a shock for some of Cadillac's longtime customers -- and for its dealers. Cadillac's dealers will have to adjust to selling fewer cars at higher prices -- and to providing the kind of service that Mercedes and BMW buyers expect. That, like everything else with Cadillac's move, will take time and money and patience. But de Nysschen's new bosses, Barra and GM president Dan Ammann, have made it clear that Cadillac will be given the time and money it needs to succeed. The rest? That's up to the market. When you get into that back office and start signing all the paperwork, the topic of extended warranties will come up pretty quickly. Ellie Kay, an author of 15 finance-related books, notes that such warranties are negotiable. "Before you sign on the dotted line, check out other sources of extended warranty pricing," she says, such as those provided by your bank or insurance company. "Then either use this lower price in the financial and insurance office for negotiation to get them to match the price, or buy it from the other source." A scenario from Kay during her last car purchase: "The dealer quoted me $4,200 for a three-year extended warranty for my 280SLK Roadster Mercedes that included a $250 deductible. USAA -- my insurance company -- gave me a three-year warranty for $3,200 with zero deductible. I've used the new warranty once already. The bill was $1,100 and I paid nothing because of the zero deductible." Bottom line: The default extended warranty is almost always the worst deal. 1. You'll get the dealer's extended warranty You may have a monthly payment figure in your head when shopping for a new car, but your interests are better served when you focus on the out-the-door price instead. "A sales rep can often trick you by offering a lower monthly payment, but [one that] will stretch out the terms of the loan," says David Bakke, a car buying expert at MoneyCrashers.com. You can reduce the overall cost of the car via negotiation and by skipping accessories and add-ons. "Things like navigation systems, rims, floor mats or car audio/entertainment systems can be purchased from a third party vendor, usually for less."

It's been a tough year for agriculture stocks. With the prices of corn, beans and wheat pulling back after surging higher last summer on a record drought in the Midwest, agriculture stocks have trailed the overall market by a sharp margin.

    LM Otero/AP DALLAS -- The federal government is suing Southwest Airlines (LUV) after failing to reach a settlement with the carrier over allegations that repairs to dozens of planes didn't meet safety standards. The Justice Department sued Southwest on Monday in federal district court in Washington state. The lawsuit seeks to enforce $12 million in civil penalties that the Federal Aviation Administration announced in late July. The government says that starting in 2006 Southwest hired a contractor to make extensive repairs on 44 planes to prevent the aluminum skin from cracking. The FAA says the contractor, Aviation Technical Services Inc. of Everett, Washington, failed to follow proper procedures. "We dispute the FAA's allegations and look forward to the opportunity to vigorously defend Southwest's record in a court of law," Southwest spokeswoman Brandy King said Monday night. The Southwest case is the second-largest penalty that the FAA has ever sought against an airline, behind only a $24.2 million case against American Airlines. Typically, airlines negotiate with the FAA to reduce the penalties. The FAA hit Southwest with $10.2 million in penalties in 2008, and that case was settled a year later for $7.5 million. The government's decision to sue Southwest barely three months after announcing the most recent penalty indicated the wide gap between the two sides. The most serious allegation in the current case involves replacement of parts of the fuselages on 44 planes. The FAA said Aviation Technical Services workers under Southwest's supervision put sealant under the new skin panels but didn't install all the rivets fast enough for the sealant to be most effective, which could create gaps for moisture to penetrate and cause corrosion. Dallas-based Southwest returned the planes to service in 2009 and kept flying some of them for months after the FAA warned the airline of the improper repairs, the FAA said.     AP NEW YORK -- American Airlines and US Airways (LCC) have cleared the last major hurdle to merging, now that the Justice Department has agreed to the deal if they scale back their combined footprint in some major airports. But it will be several months -- if not years -- before passengers see any significant impact from a union that will create the world's biggest airline. Passengers with existing tickets on American or US Airways -- and members of both frequent flier programs -- shouldn't fret. No changes will come immediately. Since announcing the deal in February, the two airlines have been working behind the scenes to try and make the merger as seamless as possible. Following Tuesday's agreement with the Justice Department, the two airlines said they expect the deal to close in December. But that doesn't mean everything will happen overnight. When the deal does close, here's what passengers can expect: Airfares During the past five years, the airline industry has seen the combinations of Delta (DAL) with Northwest, United (UAL) with Continental and Southwest Airlines (LUV) with AirTran. The price of a domestic round-trip flight has climbed more than 15 percent since 2009, when adjusted for inflation, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. The merger will give a combined American and US Airways Group Inc. the ability to increase fares. United, Delta and Southwest would be likely to follow.     One place to look for it this week has been in the ADRs, the New York traded ADRs, American Depository Receipts of GOL. One of the two big Brazilian airlines is the only one that is not owned by somebody else. The symbol is (GOL). It went up like 9.5% on October 21; it went up about 4.5% on October 22, pulled back a tiny little bit on October 23, but still a major, major move. This is basically on the effect of a weaker dollar versus the Brazilian real, since GOL is basically a domestic airline and almost all their revenue is denominated in real, which means that when the real gets cheap against the dollar, it hurts their revenue, especially because most of their costs, a lot of their costs, probably about 80% of their costs are denominated in dollars. A strong dollar means what they pay for oil, kerosene, jet fuel, what they pay for debt service, what they pay on airplane leases, all denominated in dollars, goes up, so GOL has been getting hammered on this. The reversal of this is a big deal for the stock.

Logistics Services

Customers communicate with it by means of telephone, fax, Internet, e-mail, or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

Technology Platform

The Company�� ETM technology platform allows it to analyze its clients' transportation requirements and provide customized shipping recommendations. It collects and store pricing and market capacity data in its ETM database from each interaction with carriers, and its database expands as a result of these interactions. It has also developed data acquisition tools, which retrieve information from both private and public transportation databases, including subscription-based sources and public transportation rate boards, and incorporate that information into the ETM database. Its clients communicate their transportation needs to it electronically through its EchoTrak web portal, other computer protocols, or by phone. ETM generates pricing and carrier information for its clients by accessing pre-negotiated rates with preferred carriers or using present or historical pricing and capacity information contained in its database. If a client enters its own shipment, ETM automatically alerts the appropriate account executive. After the carrier is selected, either by it or the client, its account executives use its ETM technology platform to manage all aspects of the shipping process.

The Company�� FastLane is an Internet-based Web portal, which allows its carriers! to view ! shipments available for tender, update equipment availability and preferred lanes, check on the status of all unpaid invoices, unbilled shipments, shipments in transit and other information used to resolve any billing discrepancies. There is also a mobile FastLane application, which allows carriers to view similar information remotely. eConnect is a set of tools, which allows the Company�� clients and carriers to interact directly with ETM electronically through any of several computer protocols, including EDI, extensible markup language (XML) and file transfer protocol (FTP). The eConnect tools serve as an electronic bridge between the other elements of its ETM technology platform and its clients' enterprise resource planning (ERP), billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, order management, back office and e-commerce systems. Through eConnect, its clients are able to request shipping services and receive financial and tracking data using their existing systems.

EchoTrak is an Internet-based Web portal, which connects and integrates its clients with ETM. By entering a username and password, its clients are able to enter orders, display historical and active shipments in the ETM system using configurable data entry screens sorted by carrier, price, delivery date, destination and other relevant specifications. EchoTrak also generates automatic alerts to ensure that shipments are moving in accordance with the client specifications and timeline. There is also a mobile EchoTrak application, which allows customers to perform similar functions remotely. RateIQ2.0 is a pricing engine, which manages LTL tariffs and generates rate quotes and transit times for LTL shipments. RateIQ2.0 also provides integrated tools to manage dispatch, communications, data collection and management functions relating to LTL shipments. LaneIQ is a pricing engine, which generates rate quotes for TL shipments. LaneIQ also provides integrated tools to manage dispatch, communications, headhaul and backhaul data col! lection a! nd management functions relating to TL shipments. EchoPak is a small parcel pricing and audit engine. For each small parcel shipped, EchoPak audits carrier compliance with on-time delivery requirements and pricing tariffs. In addition, EchoPak tracks information for each parcel and is able to aggregate and analyze that data for clients. For instance, clients are able to view shipments by date, business unit, product line and location, and clients can access information regarding service levels and pricing.

The Company�� Shipment Tracking stores shipment information en-route and after final delivery. The shipment data is acquired through its carrier EDI integration, allowing its clients to track the location and status of all shipments on one screen, regardless of mode or carrier. Final delivery information is permanently archived, allowing it to provide its clients with carrier performance reporting by comparing actual delivery times with the published transit time standards.

Document Imaging allows the Company to store digital images of all shipping documents, including bills of lading and delivery receipts. CAS (Cost Allocation System) automatically audits carrier invoices against its rating engine and accounts payable accrual system. If the amounts match, the invoice is automatically released for payment. If the amounts do not match, the invoice is sent to various administrative personnel for manual processing and resolution. CAS also integrates to its general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable systems. Accounting includes its general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Accounting is integrated with CAS and EchoIQ. EchoIQ stores internally and externally generated data to support its reporting and analytic functions and integrate all of its core applications with ETM. ETM supports its logistics services, which it provides to its clients as part of its value proposition. Its ETM technology platform is able to track individual shipments ! and provi! de customized data and reports throughout the lifecycle of the shipment, allowing it to manage the entire shipping process for its clients. Forward Air Corporation operates in two segments: Forward Air, Inc. (Forward Air) and Forward Air Solutions, Inc. (FASI). Through the Company's Forward Air segment, it is a provider of time-definite surface transportation and related logistics services to the North American deferred air freight market. It offers its customers local pick-up and delivery (Forward Air Complete) and scheduled surface transportation of cargo. It also picks up freight from custo! mers at designated locations via our Forward Air Complete service. It transports these shipments by truck through its network to its terminals nearest the destinations of the shipments. It operates scheduled service to and from each of its terminals through its Columbus, Ohio central sorting facility or through one of its 12 regional hubs. It also operates scheduled shuttle service directly between terminals where the volume of freight warrants bypassing the Columbus, Ohio central sorting facility or a regional hub. When a shipment arrives at its terminal nearest its destination, the customer arranges for the shipment to be picked up and delivered to its final destination, or it, in the alternative, through its Forward Air Complete service, deliver the freight for the customer to its final destination. Its airport-to-airport network consists of terminals located in the 85 cities. As of December 31, 2011, independent agents and FASI operate 18 and two of its Forward Air locations.

The Company operates direct terminal-to-terminal services and regional overnight service between terminals where justified by freight volumes. It provides regional overnight service to the markets within its network. Direct shipments also reduce the likelihood of damage because of reduced handling and sorting of the freight. It operates regional hubs in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Newark, Newburgh, Orlando, and Sacramento. During 2011, the average weekly volume of freight moving through its network was approximately 34.0 million pounds per week.
